Did he cheat on you and you don’t know what to do? Is your heart broken and you don’t know if you’ll ever be able to trust him again? Are you tempted to get angry and blame it all on him? Many women refuse to acknowledge the role they played in their mate’s infidelity. But this is rarely just the guy’s fault.
Sure there are men out there who will cheat no matter what you do. These are the guys who simply shouldn’t be in a committed relationship to begin with. However, many of them have been lassoed into a relationship by a woman who refused to accept the fact that he wanted to remain single.
For the really good guys who have their hearts in the right place, the reasons they strayed can usually be traced back to the woman. Unfair to have to take the blame in addition to the pain you feel, I know, but the more you understand what made him do it, the better prepared you’ll be to keep it from happening again.
Men generally complain about a greatly diminished sex life. Once that initial burst of romantic energy has been spent, many women lose interest in sex. It’s important you talk this out with him, because sex always remains important to him.
But there is also a sense of losing their masculinity. Many women can have a castrating way about them. They complain about everything he does. They make unrealistic demands on him. They want to control everything and anything he does.
This can leave a man feeling emasculated, which is never a good thing. Remember the man you fell in love with and remind him often that you still cherish him. If you validate him, encourage him, admire him and appreciate him, all while keeping the sex fun and alive, he’ll never have a reason to run into another woman’s arms and cheat on you again.
